Hook Farm Camp has the great benfit of lying just outside the picture postcard village of West Hoathly. In fact the entrance to Hook Farm Campsite is only five minutes walk from the centre of the village and you pass by the local Cricket Club, tennis courts and Bowls Club on the way in.
West Hoathly has a stunning 11th century church whose steeple dominates the skyline. The Manor House and Priest House which date from a similar time are both open to the Public. The Priest House garden, although quite small, provides a fascinating insight into a garden that has been tended for over 900 years.
To top it all, there is also an old 15th Century staging post, which is now called The Cat Inn. The pub is famous for its local beer (Harvey's of Lewes) and has excellent and reasonably priced food. Booking is essential, but they also have a charming garden in which to while away an hour or two.
Another huge plus is the extensive public foot and bridleway paths which walkers can access to enjoy some of the most beautiful countryside that England can offer. There are also circuits that can be completed from the centre of the village that are well worth doing as well. Particularly good for those who want to build up an appetite for supper!
